The Coordinating Committee (CC) is a group of elected leaders in the Pittsburgh DSA. CC is composed of six officer positions and three member-at-large positions. The CC as a whole performs administrative tasks to keep the chapter running and makes decisions on behalf of the chapter when soliciting the membership’s voice democratically is infeasible. Each of the nine voting members have an equal vote in business matters decided by the CC.
You can contact the CC by emailing info@pghdsa.org or posting on #ask_coordinating in our members-only Slack.
For a more in depth look at the CC, consider reading through the chapter bylaws.
Members-at-Large (3)

The three Members-at-Large (MALs) take turns planning and chairing monthly General Body Meetings for the whole chapter and monthly meetings of the Coordinating Committee. They also assist with other matters of the chapter as needed, such as organizing the chapter’s office, updating the website, and helping the officers with their many tasks.

The Technology Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the security and availability of technology resources of the chapter, such as websites, email and communication platforms, file storage, chapter-wide shared accounts, audio-visual equipment, and any computers or servers maintained by the chapter.

The Treasurer is responsible for the funds and financial records of the chapter, including paying taxes, as Pittsburgh DSA is a 501c3 non-profit organization in Pennsylvania. They prepare an annual budget and give a report at the Annual Local Convention.
Harassment & Grievance Officers (2)
grievance.pghdsa@gmail.com
The Harassment & Grievance Officers (HGOs) are elected leaders in the chapter. They are not members of the CC, but they work closely with CC in many cases. The HGOs handle any conflicts that members have with one another and address safety and security issues for the chapter. In the event that a conflict needs to be handled administratively (e.g. a member needs to be suspended, censured, or expelled), the HGOs advise the CC on how to handle cases. Please email the HGOs if you witness or experience any harassment, unfair treatment, other otherwise concerning behavior involving Pittsburgh DSA members.
