"The Pervert's Guide to Ideology" Film Screening
"The Pervert's Guide to Ideology" Film Screening
2024-04-20 @ 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Community Forge https://actionnetwork.org/events/the-perverts-guide-to-ideology-film-screening?source=direct_link&
To belatedly celebrate April Fool’s day, and to do something lighter, come to see Slavoj Zizek’s The Pervert’s Guide to Ideology (2012) ! Within this movie, the Slovenian Marxist philosopher inserts himself into scenes from various films and then deconstructs the ideological content present within the work, often to produce one of his abstract anticapitalist philosophical messages. He explores everything from The Sound of Music to A Clockwork Orange to Soviet propaganda films. It’s a wild time, so be sure not to miss it! Food will likely be provided.
