We will be discussing recent projects of the Ecosocialist and Mutual Aid Committee such as our new Hot Food Distro, Anti-fracking Ban, and Skill Shares. We will also be finalizing our priority campaign commitments and discussing the new committee charter.

Welcome to the first session of our group! We will be discussing the first chapter of Abolish Rent, by Tracy Rosenthal and Leonardo Vilchis. Join us as two cofounders of the largest tenant union in the country explore how the housing market works to immiserate  tenants, and how working class people can collectively organize to resist these forces. In our library, we have five copies of the book available for borrowing. There will also be a zoom option for those who cannot otherwise make it.

We will be having another New Member Orientation! This session will only be held in person, but other future sessions will also be done over Zoom.

What will we do here?

• Discuss how DSA functions in Pittsburgh
• Explain how to get involved
• Discuss what socialism means to us
• Meet one another and socialize as socialists!

Since we will be meeting indoors in our smaller office area for a short while without food, we will require masking at this event. We will have masks on hand that you can use.

We may meet up afterwards at a nearby restaurant to continue hanging :)

Join Pittsburgh DSA for our February General Meeting. At 6:00 pm there will be a potluck and social hour before the meeting business starts at 7:00 pm. Feel free to bring guests along as well as anything you want for the potluck (no alcohol allowed).

Once the meeting gets going we will have committee report backs, a political education segment, and discussion over any business brought to the chapter internally and externally. You can view the agenda on the next page.
