Recently, in July, the Pittsburgh DSA hit the 1000 Members in Good Standing milestone for the first time! This was a huge accomplishment for our chapter as part of a growing national movement. However, last year at the National DSA convention, a change to how membership is defined was passed, and that change has just come into effect THIS MONTH, so we lost about 100 members in that process... :(

We will be meeting at the Pittsburgh DSA office to hold a phonebank, eat pizza, and hangout while we make calls to these lapsed members! Please join us to help grow our chapter and do this much needed outreach.

Join us for a New Member Orientation, open to non-members! Learn what DSA is doing to meet the current political moment and how you can get involved in our movement.

The orientation will be a quick hour and a half with opportunities to hear from members and ask questions. We will follow it with a social hour afterwards.

Take Action Advocacy Group is hosting a wellness event in honor of Daphy Michel, a Haitian immigrant who was found dead in Pittsburgh at a bus stop after being released from ICE custody. Her death has been ruled a homicide and determined hypothermia to be the cause.

Pittsburgh DSA and the ICE OUT priority have partnered with TAAG for this wellness event focused on healing and centering Black survivors of police violence and black communities. This event features food, discussions, writing activities, yoga, breathwork, Kompa Social Dancing, and immigration support resources.

Pittsburgh DSA is offering a training in the Butler Area for any interested comrades and community members on how to spot ICE, report their movements, and patrol in your neighborhood.

This training will only be offered in person. The exact location will be provided to confirmed RSVP's in the days preceding the event.
