Join us for the Pittsburgh DSA's annual chapter convention! We will be electing new leadership of the chapter, considering bylaw amendments, and other important resolutions!
The first hour of the chapter convention will be dedicated to welcoming members and socializing, coffee and breakfast snacks will be provided. The zoom room will open at 9:45am and we shall officially begin at 10am on September 19th. There will be a 1 hour break for lunch.
Details on nomination for officer and coordinating committee positions will be provided to members in the inbox of their registered email with DSA. Proposed bylaw amendments and resolutions submitted for consideration at Convention must be submitted to the Coordinating Committee (via email) by September 3. All amendments to the submitted resolutions and bylaws amendments shall be submitted by September 8.
Members should keep an eye on their inbox throughout the next month as more details emerge about the convention!

After our 2026 Local Convention, we are hosting our celebration of reach over 1,000 Pittsburgh DSA Members at Trace Brewing in Bloomfield. Come join us for drinks, food, music, and more as we celebrate this incredible milestone. We hope to see yinz there!

The struggle for freedom and against capitalism is the demand for the needs of every person to be met: not only for the things we need to physically survive, but also for the survival of our spirits. We demand not only bread, but roses, too.

To that end, and with the intention of building a supportive creative community of like-minded artists, the Socialist & Anti-Capitalist Writing Workshop has been formed. The workshop is sponsored by Pittsburgh Democratic Socialists of America, though you don't need to be a DSA member to participate.

Join Steel City Socialist to learn how to write like a journalist! Journalistic writing has a particular style that may not be intuitive, but can be learned. Join us for some craftivism at our Whistle Kit Packing Party!

We'll assemble whistle kits with safety resources, informational materials, and other supplies for community distribution. Whether you're a seasoned organizer or new to the campaign, this is a great opportunity to contribute, meet fellow volunteers, and help support our neighbors. No experience necessary.

We encourage you to wear comfortable clothing and bring alternative seating options, such as a yoga mat, camping chair, or floor pillow (not required!).

DSA's Mutual Aid Committee Members will provide plenty of snacks.

Workers have tremendous power to fight back against a system that treats them like dirt. As socialists, we believe the workplace is a key site of struggle that connects members of the working class and shows them the collective power they have to win a better world.

Pittsburgh DSA supports labor organizing through:

Solidarity with workers (Supporting their picket lines, rallies, and other calls to action)
Helping to mentor workers looking to organize their workplaces (through EWOC)
Connecting socialists and union members who want to make their unions stronger, militant fighting organizations
Developing and training our members and the community.

We will be electing our new committee leadership at this meeting.
