Join Pittsburgh DSA

All dues-paying members in good standing of the Democratic Socialists of America national organization who live within the Pittsburgh metro area (excluding Beaver and Lawrence Counties, which are Steel Valley DSA) are considered to be full members of the Pittsburgh local chapter.

Becoming a member allows you to vote on chapter business (endorsing local candidates, setting chapter priorities), run for local leadership positions, and access our members-only Slack (online forum). You do NOT need to be a member to volunteer with us on other projects.

If you’re not ready to join but would like to learn more about us and what we do, check out our Facebook , Instagram, or Twitter pages. Also, sign up for our email list! Finally, come get to know us at one of our general meetings or other public events!

Ready to Join?

If you are ready to organize with PGH DSA, the first step is to join DSA. Pay your dues and join 70,000+ members in the struggle for a better world. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. Anyone who wants to join but cannot afford to contribute financially should complete this dues waiver form.

If you intend to become a member of the Pittsburgh chapter, please also reach out to us at membership@pghdsa.org. You can forward your dues payment receipt from Nationals if you already have it. We will get you onboarded to our members-only Slack (online organizing forum) and help you get started with us.

You can also fill out this form below so our onboarders know a bit about you before meeting you. Welcome to Pittsburgh DSA!

Donate to PGH DSA

If you’d like to support us financially, please click the link above.

Your donations are voluntary, an above and beyond action which helps fund our work locally and cover chapter expenses, such as paying rent for our office in Wilkinsburg, purchasing supplies, and subscribing to tech tools.

Donations directly to Pittsburgh DSA do NOT make you a member. To do this, please see the section above about joining National DSA.

You can also specifically support the mutual aid work we do by becoming a Patreon donor. This is aid that we give back to the people of Pittsburgh and beyond in the form of donations to funds (for bail, abortion access), free pantry supplies, and more.
