Join us for the inaugural meeting of our reading and discussion group for Vicky Osterweil's In Defense of Looting. Using the book as a reference point, we will discuss looting, rioting, and other violent or extreme revolutionary tactics that have been used historically, and whether they can be valid and effective in our present-day struggle. In this first meeting we will discuss the Introductory chapter and determine a schedule for our future meetings. Meeting of Pittsburgh's local of the Emergency Workplace Organizing Committee (EWOC). Those currently organizing with EWOC and those who want to volunteer with EWOC are welcome.

HEARTY (Help Ensure Access and Rights for Trans Youth) is a current priority campaign of Pittsburgh DSA, which will run until at least the end of June 2026 and may be extended. We aim to pressure UPMC to restore gender affirming care for trans youth, build support for public clinics for youth gender affirming care, and support the work of other local organizations working to aid trans youth and their families.

This is a public call is where members of the Priority Campaign Steering Committee will go over progress of the campaign. It is open to all DSA members, coalition partners, and anyone else who is interested.

Join the Internal Organizing Committee for a regular meeting to discuss the bones of organizing in PGH DSA: onboarding new folks, keeping members engaged, developing leaders, planning socials, etc. Only DSA members may attend.

Join us for a New Member Orientation, open to non-members! Learn what DSA is doing to meet the current political moment and how you can get involved in our movement. The orientation will be a quick hour and a half with opportunities to hear from members and ask questions. We may also go out for food together afterward if folks want!

Workers have tremendous power to fight back against a system that treats them like dirt. As socialists, we believe the workplace is a key site of struggle that connects members of the working class and shows them the collective power they have to win a better world.

Pittsburgh DSA supports labor organizing through:

-Solidarity with workers (Supporting their picket lines, rallies, and other calls to action)
-Helping to mentor workers looking to organize their workplaces (through EWOC)
-Connecting socialists and union members who want to make their unions stronger, militant fighting organizations
-Developing and training our members and the community.
